My first wedding of 2013 was Rachel & Gavin’s at Redcoats Farmhouse Hotel near Hitchin. They had a cosy and intimate ceremony infront of a roaring log fire in the hotel’s Oak Room.

After the ceremony the formal shots were done in the Old Kitchen which gave me a chance to try out my new Lastolite softbox, which worked a treat.

This was also the first time I included a wedding book design as part of the package. Nothing fancy, just a simple standard landscape photo book from blurb.com. Some sample pages are included in a slideshow below.

Last Saturday I headed to Leicester to help out my new friends Darren and Bridget from Photography by Yours Truly at Hannah and Sukh’s wedding. We were introduced by my cousin Sian (who is also a photographer).

The wedding was an Anglo-Indian affair held at The Empire, an old church now used as a banqueting hall. After the traditional civil ceremony that anyone would recognise, it was straight into the music and the dancing, and the food.

The high windows and a relatively sunny day outside meant that there was a really dramatic light, which made Hannah’s beautiful white dress positively glow.

So here are some rough cuts of the day’s photographs. And thank you again Bridget and Darren for asking me along. It was fun.

Back in April, Kate & Rupert married at Wokefield Park, near Reading, Berkshire. It is a was a lovely wedding at a great venue, but the British weather did its best to get in on the act so we were never able to get outside and make the most of the hotel grounds and buildings.

Nevermind.

Thanks to the best man and the ushers we quickly set up a lighting rig in front of the grand fireplace and everyone made the most of an impromptu studio session for the groups shots before getting on with the rest of the day.

A couple of weeks ago I took Helen & Peter, whose wedding I will be photographing in September, on a walk around London’s Marylebone High Street for an engagment shoot.

The wedding will be in the Marylebone Parish Church and as Peter used to live just off the high street, it was a fitting location.

We were very lucky with the weather, going the whole session without any rain during an unseasonably wet few weeks in London.

Both Helen and Peter were great sports and we got some great shots. Looking forward to the big day.

I have the honour of introducing Matt & Georgie at my own leaving party from a previous job. They had both attended the same university, surfed the same beaches, and stayed in the same campsites and B&Bs at the same time. And yet, fate had conspired to keep them apart, until that August evening in 2008.

Three and bit years and a baby Edward later, they tied the knot at a wedding at St Audries Park, Somerset. Here are some of the highlights.
